New Synonym of Oberonia brachystachys Lindl. (Orchidaceae)

ABSTRACT Oberonia marnkuliensis (Orchidaceae) was described in 2024 as a new species from Karnataka. After careful examination of the protologue and morphological comparisons, it has been concluded that the characters of O. marnkuliensis fall within the variation of O. brachystachys native to the Indian Subcontinent–Peninsula Malaysia. O. marnkuliensis is proposed here as a synonym of O. brachystachys .
