FEASIBILIRY OF COLOR DOPPLER ULTRASOUND ONLINE LEARING IN MEDICAL MASSIVE OPENED ONLINE COURSES IN THAILAND

Color Doppler ultrasound (CDUS) is essential tool, however, theoretical knowledge of these topics is scantly provided in medical school. Hence, online course of systematic lectures was created. Eight system-based VDO lectures and adjunct learning document, provided by subspecialist radiologist, on MOOC platform, subsequently starting from CDUS of renal transplant, native kidney, lower extremity vein, upper extremity vascular structure, CDUS in chronic venous insufficiency, abdominal aorta, carotid artery and hepatobiliary system, are establish, and free to access for medical health care personnel. The content comprised of anatomy, scanning technique and common pathology. Students can do the posttest exam and if they passed all post-tests with the scores more than 70% in every lecture, would receive an electronic certificate of completion. A total of 653 students from every region and from over 23 medical schools in Thailand were enrolled, including not only medical students, GP and specialist/subspecialist, but also nurses and radiology technicians, agreed to answer the questionnaire of attitude/perspective of the CDUS, experience, learning system in their institute, and reason for learning. Of 144 students have complete the first lecture and there is statistically significant in improvement of the pretest and posttest scores which is subcategorized into normal anatomy, technique and common pathology, using pair t test (p<0.01). Students who finished all the 8 lectures also showed positive perspective toward CDUS, using Linkert’s scoring system. CDUS on MOOCs platform showed to be potential method in continuous medical learning for health care personnel.
