Arrhenius Activation Energy Performance in Hydromagnetized Thermal Flow of Micropolar Fluid Between Two Parallel Stretchable Disks

ABSTRACT An electrically conducting thermal flow of micropolar fluid is confined between two parallel disks. The laminar flow stream is generated by the stretching movement of two disks along radial directions. This study modifies classical Newtonian fluid models by incorporating microstructure and microrotational interactions within the fluid, highlighting the coupled influence of disk stretching and microrotation on the transport mechanism. Fluid phenomenon is also subjected to chemically reactive flow under Arrhenius activation energy. The basic laws of fluid motion are utilized to formulate the physical problem for incompressible steady‐state flow. The formulated problem is first converted into non‐dimensional equations by the implication of feasible similar variables. Numerical simulations are computed by using the Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg (RKF‐45) built‐in package. This study explores the effects of magnetic fields, stretching Reynolds number, stretching ratio parameters, Schmidt number, micropolar parameters, Prandtl number, chemical reaction, Eckert number, fitted rate constant, temperature difference, and activation energy parameter on flow characteristics. In contrast to the Newtonian fluids, the micropolar fluids have additional stress tensor components associated with the rotational effects of microstructures. Therefore, the combined effects of micropolar parameters first enhance the microrotational profiles in the lower half region and then the profiles decline in the upper half region. Micropolar fluids revealed an increase in viscous dissipation owing to their internal rotational degrees of freedom. The additional dissipation results in the enhancement of the temperature field of the fluid against Prandtl number and Eckert number. A modification in the concentration field is observed for the augmenting values of chemical reaction and temperature difference parameters.
