Rural People's Awareness Of The Concept Of Sustainable Agricultural Development, Its Objectives, And Ways To Achieve It In Some Villages Of Dakahlia Governorate
This research aimed to determine the level of rural residents' understanding of the concept of sustainable agricultural development, its objectives, methods of achieving it, and the challenges facing its realization in the study area. It also aimed to determine the significance of the relationship between the studied independent variables and the overall level of the respondents' understanding of the concept of sustainable agricultural development, its objectives, and methods of achieving it.Data was collected from 200 respondents, representing the research sample, selected using simple random sampling from villages in the Mit Ghamr and Nabaroh districts of Dakahlia Governorate. The data was collected through a questionnaire administered via personal interviews with the respondents during March and April 2025. The data was then compiled and analyzed using appropriate statistical tools, specifically the SPSS software. The most important findings of the research were as follows:More than two-thirds of the respondents (69.5%) fall into the high level of awareness of the concept of sustainable agricultural development, and more than three-fifths of the respondents (63%) have a high level of awareness of the overall goals of sustainable agricultural development. The most significant challenges facing the achievement of sustainable agricultural development are the high cost of land reclamation projects and agricultural projects in general. There is a significant relationship between the variables of educational attainment and cultural openness in rural areas and their overall level of awareness of the concept and goals of sustainable agricultural development.
