The impact of the Israeli occupation on the global economy
The study examines how geopolitical conflicts affect economic conditions, highlighting that the war in Gaza between Israeli forces and the Palestinian resistance mirrors the global economic fallout seen during the Russia–Ukraine conflict. The impact is expected to be even greater in the Middle East, potentially triggering a wider recession. The conflict has caused declines in GDP and three consecutive years of negative per-capita growth, leading to lower living standards, increased poverty, and weakened support systems for vulnerable groups such as the unemployed, women, and large families. Budget cuts in housing and local support have further deepened the crisis, making these challenges a central part of current social policy.
