Design Standards for Educational Materials Provided to Adults for Basic Literacy

It is no secret that one of the issues raised by adult education is the breadth of its fields and the multiplicity of its activities, programs and curricula, depending on the multiplicity of groups to which these activities and programs are directed. Adult education experts emphasize the multiple needs of learners depending on their specializations, environments, and social and educational levels. This diversity requires a multiplicity of programs and activities to meet the needs of these different segments and environments. In addition, adult education in its modern concept includes a number of activities and programs indicated by the strategy for adult education in the Arab world: “eradicating illiteracy of all types, alphabetical, functional, and cultural, continuing education, liberal studies, and rehabilitation.” Training, leadership preparation, and other public educational programs.”On this basis, it has become necessary to establish approved methodological standards for designing educational materials provided to adults according to the needs of the learners, their specializations, their environments, and their cultural and civilizational diversity. The current paper presents some proposed standards for text standards presented to adults with the aim of eradicating orthographic literacy as the first step in a series of standards that should be proposed to characterize educational materials provided to adults
