Iontronic flexible pressure sensor based on double-layer microstructure TPU dielectric layer for wearable devices

This study details the design, fabrication, performance testing, and practical application testing of an iontronic flexible pressure sensor based on a double-layer microstructure thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) dielectric layer. The prepared sensor has a wide pressure detection range of 0–760 kPa, an ultra-high sensitivity of 51.8 kPa−1 at a low pressure of 0–1 kPa, and a high sensitivity of 5.42 kPa−1 at a pressure of 1–760 kPa. The sensor has excellent performance in terms of stability, repeatability, etc., and it exhibits a fast response time and recovery time of 40 ms. The practical application test of the sensor shows that the sensor has broad application prospects in the fields of wearable devices, human-interaction machines, and medical detection.
