Combustion-Driven Rapid Self-Assembly of V 2 O 3 /N-MWCNT Heterointerfaces for High-Performance Electromagnetic Wave Absorption
The escalating electromagnetic pollution demands high-efficiency electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbers. Herein, we report a facile ethanol-assisted combustion strategy for the rapid self-assembly of V2O3/N-MWCNT heterointerfaces: vanadyl sulfate (VOSO4) serves as the vanadium source, and nitrogen-doped multiwalled carbon nanotubes (N-MWCNTs) induce in situ growth of V2O3 nanosheets, forming robust heterointerfaces and a 3D conductive network. This architecture synergizes the high conductivity of N-MWCNTs and dielectric-magnetic coupling of V2O3, optimizing impedance matching and intensifying EM energy dissipation. Key performances: The FM sample (prepared with 0.3 M VOSO4, corresponding to an optimal V2O3 loading of ∼8.5 wt %) achieves a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of −69.22 dB at 2.42 mm thickness, while the FH (0.5 M VOSO4 precursor) sample delivers an effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 4.96 GHz at 2.0 mm thickness. This work highlights heterointerface engineering as a promising route for advanced lightweight, broadband microwave absorbers.
