Correction: Technology transfer and political alignment: new evidence from China’s outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) in Africa

Data. The existing research on China's OFDI relies primarily on data from the Ministry of Commerce, though this source has the disadvantage of not providing enterprises' investment departments and investment amounts (GaoYan, 2021; Zhao and Lee, 2023).Therefore, based on the CGIT database, this study uses firm-level OFDI data to construct a unique dataset to analyse Chinese firms' direct investment in Africa.Compared with the Ministry of Commerce data, the CGIT database provides information on the industry fields covered by China's OFDI and records the scale and final destination of OFDI for Chinese enterprises, providing data support for the present study's analysis.
