The GOArt Center and its Library, where the Organ is the Focus

English Abstract: Each chapter in the anthology Object and Collection was written by a staff member at the Gothenburg University Library. The contributions have a wide spectrum, focusing on unique objects and their contexts, as well as on entire collections. This chapter deals with the GOArt library. The Göteborg Organ Art Center (GOArt) at Gothenburg University was established in 1995 and developed into a North-European centre for organ research. Setting up its own library to support research was a conscious aim from the start. GOArt's collection of organ literature grew over the years and has ended up fulfilling the functions of a Nordic research and reference library for its field.
