Corrigendum to “Kernel density estimation in metric spaces”

In the published version of the above article (Gu et al., 2025), an erroneous reference was included in the reference list. The entry Wang, X., Tian, Y., & Wang, J. L. (2020). Functional clustering via sparse kernel learning. Journal of the American Statistical Association, 115(529), 219–232 was mistakenly cited, although it does not correspond to an actual publication. We would like to correct the citation by replacing it with Dai, X. & Müller, H.-G. (2018). Principal component analysis for functional data on Riemannian manifolds and spheres. The Annals of Statistics, 46(6B), 3334–3361. Accordingly, the in-text citation (Wang et al., 2020) on page 1019, line 5 (Introduction section) should be replaced with (Dai & Müller, 2018). The authors regret any confusion or inconvenience this error may have caused.
