The promotion effect of n–π* transition in carbon nitride modified by trace amounts of benzimidazole enhances photodegradation of Rhodamine B

Carbon nitride doped with benzimidazole donor (CN-abIM 9mg ) was two-step prepared, and the occurrence of n–π* transition within donor–acceptor system in CN-abIM 9mg enhanced photodegradation rate of 10 mg L −1 RhB solution, reaching 98.8% in 1 h.
