Enhanced ephemeris-based multi-SatCom systems under earth-fixed cell scenario

This paper proposes a grid-based service satellite selection (GSS) algorithm and an ephemeris-based Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) combiner (EMMC) for multi-satellite communication systems operating under the Earth-fixed cell (EFC) scenario. The proposed GSS algorithm predefines a grid with respect to the EFC center and selects satellites to serve the EFC in order of their proximity to the grid vertex. Each terminal designs an EMMC using the ephemeris information of all satellites serving the corresponding EFC. Simulation results demonstrate that the EMMC achieves higher sum capacity compared to existing schemes, while the GSS algorithm provides comparable performance to conventional methods with much lower computational complexity.
