First person – Yu-Kai Huang
ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Yu-Kai Huang is first author on ‘ FLIM intensity-based image segmentation reveals upregulated energy metabolism and chemotherapy sensitivity in MCF-7 cells’, published in JCS. Yu-Kai conducted the research described in this article while a Graduate Student Researcher in Michelle A. Digman's lab at University of California, Irvine, USA. He is now a Microscopy Research Engineer in the lab of Shannon Mumenthaler at the Ellison Medical Institute, Los Angeles, CA, USA, using advanced microscopy and imaging analysis to quantify fluorescence dynamics and optimizing phasor approach to FLIM graphical user interface.
