Shades of Emancipation: The Missed Opportunities and Difficult Choices of Julia Dickstein-Wieleżyńska
The text discusses the emancipatory aspect of Julia Dickstein-Wieleżyńska’s (1881–1943) activities, taking into account its sources and selected manifestations. It also draws attention to family relations and the alienation experienced by Dickstein-Wieleżyńska as a Jew and a woman, which, on the one hand, strengthened her emancipatory convictions and, on the other, hindered her from realising them.
