Iron-Catalyzed 4-Azafluorenone Synthesis from Oxime Esters and 1,3-Indanedione-Derived Enones

We develop an iron-catalyzed formal [3 + 3] annulation approach for the construction of 4-azafluorenones. This method employs oxime esters and 1,3-indanedione-derived enones as easily available starting materials, which efficiently furnish a series of structurally diverse 4-azafluorenones with good functional group tolerance.

Abstract

We develop an iron-catalyzed formal [3 + 3] annulation approach for the construction of 4-azafluorenones. This method employs oxime esters and 1,3-indanedione-derived enones as easily available starting materials, which efficiently furnish a series of structurally diverse 4-azafluorenones with good functional group tolerance.
