Selective Hydrocracking of Polyethylene to Gasoline Over Bi‐Functional Ir/HBEA Catalysts Under Mild Condition
Abstract Plastic recycling has also become an urgent problem to be solved. Among the huge types of plastics, polyolefins (PO), especially polyethylene (PE), were the most abundant type and the most difficult to upgrade. Herein, we reported effective an Ir‐based catalyst supported on HBEA zeolite to achieve efsficient hydrocracking of LDPE under relatively mild conditions. Unlike Ir‐based hydrogenolysis process, gasoline is the main product of LDPE hydrocracking, a highest gasoline range product selectivity of 82.4% under 250 °C 3 MPa H 2 , in 4 h. During the process of hydrocarcking, Bronsted acid site in zeolite plays an important role on the reaction reactivity.
