Improved proportional topology optimization method: efficiency and precision in lightweight structural design
This paper presents an improved proportional topology optimization (IPTO) algorithm, developed using a modified code, to tackle advanced optimization challenges in lightweight structural design. The IPTO mathematical model describes the minimum compliance (objective) and volume fraction problem. Numerical examination is held to optimize proportional topology under control parameters, including compliance, material volume fraction, and iteration number. An analysis is conducted and compared with the conventional method based on the behavior of iteration, computational time, objective (compliance), and output features of a three-dimensional (3D) design structure. The 3D-IPTO algorithm applies advanced optimization techniques to improve beam design by minimizing structural compliance. It results in enhanced efficiency and accuracy in material distribution. Furthermore, this method is employed to correctly represent the geometry, displacement field, and material distribution scheme.
