The Impact of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) on Craving and Relapse Rates in Opioid-Dependent Patients Undergoing Methadone Maintenance Therapy
The findings of this study suggest that the specific tDCS protocol used, targeting the left DLPFC with anodal stimulation and the right DLPFC with cathodal stimulation, did not significantly reduce craving in opioid-dependent patients undergoing MMT. The study highlights the need for further research to optimize tDCS protocols and explore alternative brain targets for the treatment of substance craving and relapse prevention.
