Synthesis of a conductive coordination polymer <i>via</i> a one-pot thioether deprotection process
A novel thioether deprotection process is reported here for the synthesis of a 1,2,4,5-tetrathiolbenzoquinone-based conductive coordination polymer, which has the potential to be applied for the synthesis of c-CPs. In this method, a one-pot reaction with nickel chloride and <i>tert</i>-butyl sulfide as reactants was employed to synthesize conductive coordination polymer materials successfully. The obtained polycrystalline product is a narrow bandgap semiconducting material with a conductivity of 0.02 S cm-1 at 300 K.
