Integration of adaptive Artificial Intelligence and digital e-learning in teaching Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana: A transformative approach for Ayurveda education

ABSTRACT: The integration of adaptive Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital e-learning technologies is a less explored concept in Ayurveda education, including the domain of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana. This review highlights the potential application of AI-driven adaptive learning to strengthen competency-based, module-driven learning as prescribed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). The major objectives include the scope of applications, starting from dataset creation and curriculum design to virtual simulation and campus connectivity. The present work employs a conceptual methodology to integrate recent innovations in learning platforms. Adaptive supports, personalized pace and progression, enhances procedural accuracy, and provides robust feedback while enabling immersive experiential learning through virtual laboratories and three-dimensional classrooms. These innovations may improve skill acquisition, research capacity, and efficiency at the institutional level through automated evaluation, planning, and resource utilization. In addition, the creation of structured datasets and digital repositories ensures knowledge preservation and foster evidence-based interdisciplinary learning. However, despite significant advancements, implementation challenges persist, including limited dataset, digital infrastructure, faculty adaptation barriers, data privacy concerns, and maintaining the authenticity of classical Ayurveda principles. In conclusion, adaptive assisted e-learning represents a transformative approach that merges traditional knowledge with technological innovation, promoting inclusivity, precision, and global competence in Ayurvedic education.

The present work employs a conceptual methodology to integrate recent innovations in learning platforms. Adaptive supports, personalized pace and progression, enhances procedural accuracy, and provides robust feedback while enabling immersive experiential learning through virtual laboratories and three-dimensional classrooms.
