Status of the MPD experiment at NICA

The MPD experiment aims to study dense nuclear matter using beams of relativistic heavy ions provided by the NICA accelerator complex. In this paper, an overview of the construction status of the MPD detector is given and feasibility study results for some selected physics signals are presented.
