Highly Efficient All-Optical Control of Optomechanical Photonic Crystal Nanobeam Cavities via the Mechanical Kerr Effect

This work overcomes silicon's weak optical nonlinearity by demonstrating all-optical control of a one-dimensional photonic crystal nanobeam through the Mechanical Kerr Effect, achieving a 6.84 nm wavelength shift using only 1.85 mW and a record tuning efficiency of 483.45 GHz/mW for on-chip tuning. ©2025 The Author(s)
