A Programmable and Reconfigurable On-Chip Photonic Filter for Next-Generation Multi-Channel DWDM

A reconfigurable on-chip multi-channel photonic filter based on thermo-optic chirped four-phase-shifted sampled Bragg gratings enables independent spectral control. We demonstrate single- to quad-band switching with tunable spacing from 50 to 250GHz, validating its low-loss programmability and suitability for dense wavelength-division multiplexing and optical I/O applications. ©2025 The Author(s)

Abstract

A reconfigurable on-chip multi-channel photonic filter based on thermo-optic chirped four-phase-shifted sampled Bragg gratings enables independent spectral control. We demonstrate single- to quad-band switching with tunable spacing from 50 to 250GHz, validating its low-loss programmability and suitability for dense wavelength-division multiplexing and optical I/O applications. ©2025 The Author(s)
