2 $\text{Tb}/\mathrm{s}/\lambda$ 3-Mode Transmission over 54-km Few-Mode Fiber with Blind Equalization Enabled by Digital Subcarrier Multiplexing

Using only blind equalization schemes, we demonstrate 2 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{Tb}/\mathrm{s}/\lambda$</tex> 3-mode transmission over a 54-km few-mode fiber. Digital subcarrier multiplexing is used to limit the required per-subcarrier MIMO length allowing the utilization of blind equalization with singularity-free convergence.

Abstract

Using only blind equalization schemes, we demonstrate 2 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{Tb}/\mathrm{s}/\lambda$</tex> 3-mode transmission over a 54-km few-mode fiber. Digital subcarrier multiplexing is used to limit the required per-subcarrier MIMO length allowing the utilization of blind equalization with singularity-free convergence.
