Partitioned MIMO Equalization with Mode-Group Specific Interface Resolution for SDM Transmission Over 58.9 km 15-Mode Fiber
We demonstrate 5-fold partitioned MIMO equalization with low-resolution inter-partition interface for DP-QPSK 15-mode fiber transmission. The interface resolution is adapted to the coupling between mode groups. Amplitude quantization between 1-4 bits facilitates interface throughput reduction by 49% while keeping the SNR degradation <1.6 dB. © 2025 The Author(s)
