Monolithic Multi-Wavelength Mode-Locked DFB Laser Based on Waveguide Bragg Grating Microcavities

We demonstrate a compact monolithic mode-locked DFB laser with a waveguide Bragg grating, achieving stable three- and four-wavelength lasing at 57.4 GHz spacing. The device offers strong coherence and a high side-mode suppression ratio, suitable for dense wavelength division multiplexing and coherent communication applications. ©2025 The Author(s)

Abstract

We demonstrate a compact monolithic mode-locked DFB laser with a waveguide Bragg grating, achieving stable three- and four-wavelength lasing at 57.4 GHz spacing. The device offers strong coherence and a high side-mode suppression ratio, suitable for dense wavelength division multiplexing and coherent communication applications. ©2025 The Author(s)
