SEYAHAT EDEN BİREYLERİN SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR TÜKETİME İLİŞKİN GÖRÜŞLERİ: NİTEL BİR ARAŞTIRMA (TRAVELERS PERSPECTIVES ON SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION: A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH APPROACH

This study examines the perspectives of frequent travelers on sustainable consumption. While the literature on sustainable consumption mostly focuses on the general consumer population, the limited number of studies centered on individuals who travel intensively and regularly constitutes the original aspect of this research.Within the scope of a qualitative research design, semistructured interviews were conducted with 15 participants of different ages, educational levels, and travel frequencies. The interviews were conducted online and face-to-face, and participant confirmation and inter-coder agreement were ensured to increase the reliability of the data.Content analysis revealed themes of accommodation, transportation, food and beverage, and recreational activities.Findings indicate increased awareness of sustainability; however, economic conditions, accessibility issues, and comfort expectations limit sustainable consumption behaviors. The results reveal that accessible, visible and cost-effective applications are important for strengthening sustainable consumption.
