Functional decline and disability in survivors of epidermal necrolysis

The majority of survivors of epidermal necrolysis develop long-term sequelae; however, their functional trajectory remains unclear. In this cohort of 43 patients recruited over a 7-year period (2017–2023) at Singapore General Hospital, we found that functional decline is common among survivors and is associated with disease severity but not age or comorbidities. A proactive inpatient rehabilitation programme can improve functional outcomes.
