Results of Complex Observations of the Geophysical Effects of Strong Magnetic Storms

For the first time, the results of complex instrumental observations of geophysical effects in the surface atmosphere accompanying strong magnetic storms are presented. The events of May 10‒11, 2024 (Kp = 9); October 10‒11, 2024 (Kp = 9); and January 1, 2025 (Kp = 8) are considered as an example. It is found that magnetic storms are accompanied by pronounced variations in the electric field, microbaric variations, and increased variations in the pseudopositioning error of the GPS global navigation satellite system. It is also shown that magnetic storms are accompanied by changes in the characteristics of turbulence in the surface atmosphere. Given the recent increase in the number of strong magnetic storms, these data can be useful in assessing the impact of their effects on the functioning of modern radio and electronic systems, as well as in developing a new approach to monitoring trends in weather and climatic conditions.
