Enantioselective Construction of Inherently Chiral Heteracalixarenes via an NHC-Catalyzed (Dynamic) Kinetic Resolution
We have disclosed an NHC-catalyzed (dynamic) kinetic resolution approach for the facile construction of inherently chiral calix[4](hetero)arenes. Commercially available (hetero)aromatic, alkyl aldehydes, enals, and α-bromoenals were used as acylation reagents for the catalytically asymmetric esterification process, affording various functionalized, inherently chiral macrocycles in excellent yields and enantioselectivities.
