A review of drugs for the treatment of dyslipidemia

Dyslipidemia is the main cause of a number of cardiovascular diseases, which are a serious problem for modern healthcare. The classes of drugs used for modern therapy of dyslipidemia (statins, fibrates, bile acid sequestrants, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids) are characterized, and the features of their pharmacological action are considered. Information is provided on red rice extract derivatives as alternative remedies for correcting dyslipidemia in certain patient groups.
