Extension of the simplified model and its application to mutual neutralization processes in collisions with oxygen cations

The simplified quantum model, originally proposed for collisions with hydrogen, is extended to the case of collisions of different atoms $B+A$ and their ions ${B}^{+}+{A}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. It is shown that the simplified model correctly reproduces experimental data on relative populations of oxygen states in low-energy collisions of ${\mathrm{O}}^{+}$ with ${\mathrm{P}}^{\ensuremath{-}}/{\mathrm{D}}^{\ensuremath{-}}/{\mathrm{C}}^{\ensuremath{-}}/{\mathrm{Si}}^{\ensuremath{-}}/{\mathrm{O}}^{\ensuremath{-}}/{\mathrm{S}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. The simplified quantum model may be very useful for physically reliable qualitative and quantitative estimations of rate coefficients values of inelastic processes in atom-atom and cation-anion collisions, which are needed for numerical modeling of plasma and gaseous media with temperatures below $\ensuremath{\approx}10\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}000\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$. Predictions of the simplified model for ${\mathrm{O}}^{+}\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}+\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}{\mathrm{Na}}^{\ensuremath{-}},{\mathrm{Li}}^{\ensuremath{-}},{\mathrm{Ni}}^{\ensuremath{-}},{\mathrm{I}}^{\ensuremath{-}},{\mathrm{F}}^{\ensuremath{-}},{\mathrm{Cl}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ low-energy collisions are presented. The equation for the position of the optimal window maximum with respect to the electron binding energy is derived and presented.
