Sloshing in a Swinging Rectangular Container: Manned Pressurized Rovers for Low Gravity Conditions
The influence of liquid height on sloshing in a small rectangular vessel was investigated through experiments and numerical simulations. This study aims to inform applications in vehicles, mobile systems, and devices like manned pressurized rovers that use liquid storage tanks and gas-liquid separators for Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS). The dependence of fluid motion on the liquid height is examined against the oscillation frequency near the first-order resonance for test liquids of higher Weber and Bond numbers but lower Ohnesorge numbers than water.
