Toward the perfect representation of the scattering process using optically oriented field augmentation

This paper proposes an optically oriented field augmentation (OOFA) technique for the robust retrieval of the scattering process in the presence of environmental noise. In the OOFA method, the signal level is significantly augmented through controlled scattering field interactions, enabling the transmission matrix of the scattering medium to be evaluated under a substantially improved signal-to-noise ratio. Furthermore, OOFA achieves differential amplification of orthogonal signals, thereby effectively suppressing noise interference and yielding an ideal representation of the scattering matrix. The proposed OOFA method is particularly valuable for imaging through scattering media, where noise typically dominates the scattering process, making the accurate acquisition of the ideal system response, which seem an unachievable goal in the past.
