Uncommon but Critical: A Case of Acute Kidney Injury Secondary to Clindamycin Therapy
Abstract Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a clinical condition characterized by a sudden decline in renal function, often evidenced by an elevation in serum creatinine and a reduction in urine output. Although many antibiotics have been well-documented to cause nephrotoxicity, clindamycin is less frequently implicated. Here, we present a case of a 62-year-old patient who developed AKI following the initiation of clindamycin therapy for skin and soft tissue infection.
