Analysis of heat and mass boundary layers in shear-thinning Carreau-Yasuda fluid over a stretching cylinder with variable thermophysical properties

In today's quickly changing industrial environment, precise modelling of complicated fluid behaviour has emerged as a critical necessity for enhancing product quality, maximising energy efficiency, and guaranteeing manufacturing system dependability. These requirements drive this work, which examines the boundary layer flow of a Carreau-Yasuda non-Newtonian fluid across a stretching cylindrical surface. The considered model is very reflective of real-world engineering systems since it includes genuine physical complications, including viscous dissipation, activation energy effects, and variable thermophysical properties. The Carreau-Yasuda framework is especially useful because it captures the shear-thinning and shear-thickening properties that are pertinent to a variety of industrial fluids. By applying similarity transformations, the governing equations for continuity, momentum, energy, and concentration are converted into nonlinear ordinary differential equations. To investigate the impact of fluid characteristics and operating conditions, dimensionless parameters are added, such as the Weissenberg number, Eckert number, Prandtl number, Schmidt number, and activation energy parameter. MATLAB's bvp4c solver, which guarantees precision while managing boundary value issues, is used to numerically solve the system. The findings of this study indicates that the temperature dependent viscosity coefficient, thermal conduction parameter, Eckert number augments the thermal behaviour of fluid, whereas the Weissenberg number shows the declining behaviour on temperature region. The concentration region of considered fluid model decline by magnifying the Damkohler number, activation energy and temperature difference parameter. In the field of physical quantities, the Nusselt number drops by enhancing the inputs of Eckert number and thermal conduction parameter. The activation energy and Schmidt number decrements the Sherwood number. These findings offer useful information about the interplay between thermochemical effects and non-Newtonian rheology in practical flow scenarios, as well as design recommendations for sectors involving heat and mass transport in complicated fluids. We consider the steady and incompressible flow analysis of a Carreau-Yasuda fluid characterized by temperature-dependent viscosity, variable thermal conductivity and diffusivity, including the effects of activation energy and viscous dissipation flowing on a stretching cylinder surface. The fluid flows along the axial direction -axis, which is tangential to the cylinder, while the radial coordinate is denoted by . The flow configuration is clearly depicted in Figure 1 .
