Disclosing Alzheimer Biomarkers to Motivate Brain Health Behaviors
Clark and colleagues 1 present novel data regarding whether learning Alzheimer disease (AD) biomarker results is associated with older cognitively unimpaired adults' adoption of brain-healthy behaviors. In their study, individuals learning they had an elevated brain amyloid result were no more likely than those learning they had a not-elevated result to report adopting brain health behaviors.Brain health behaviors were discussed in dementia risk-reduction counseling sessions and included physical, cognitive, social, diet, sleep quality, and stress reduction activities.
