Predicting green knowledge sharing and creation through green knowledge acquisition, storage and application

Purpose This study investigates the impact of green knowledge acquisition, storage and application on green knowledge sharing and creation. This study also aims to predict green knowledge sharing and creation through knowledge acquisition, storage and application. Design/methodology/approach The participants of the study consisted of 135 males and females working with public and private organizations in the United Arab Emirates. Data was collected through a survey method and questionnaire tool. Stated hypotheses and models were tested and verified using a correlation matrix, chi-square goodness of fit and regression analysis. Findings The findings of the study showed that green knowledge acquisition, storage and application, together or separately, have a positive and significant impact on green knowledge sharing and green knowledge creation. The regression model for green knowledge sharing explained 48.3% of the variation in green knowledge sharing, while the regression model for green knowledge creation explained 91% of the variation in green knowledge creation. Practical implications The positive and significant impact of green knowledge acquisition, storage and application on knowledge sharing and creation implies that organizations should encourage collaboration and information exchange by promoting activities that enhance these aspects. This might involve investing in training programs, creating platforms for knowledge sharing and creation or supporting employees to apply green knowledge management in their work. Originality/value The concept of green knowledge management is still emerging and requires further research. This research aids in deepening the understanding of green knowledge management. The findings of the study may serve as a valuable reference for exploring the relationships among the key concepts of green knowledge management.
