One‐Pot Method to Prepare CoCu‐SAPO‐34 Zeolite Catalysts and Their NH 3 ‐SCR Denitration Performance

ABSTRACT The selective catalytic reduction of NO x with NH 3 (NH 3 ‐SCR) is widely employed in exhaust gas treatment, attributed to its high denitration efficiency and better stability. Currently, Cu‐SAPO‐34 catalysts are commonly used catalysts in NH 3 ‐SCR technology due to their high denitration activity, wide activity window, and favorable hydrothermal stability. To further enhance the denitration performance of Cu‐SAPO‐34 catalysts, this work adopts the method of introducing a second metal ion to prepare transition metal‐modified Cu‐SAPO‐34 catalysts for NH 3 ‐SCR application. The Co and Cu bimetallic catalysts were synthesized via a one‐pot method, using aluminum phosphate as both phosphorus and aluminum source. The effect of CoCu‐SAPO‐34 zeolite catalysts with varying Co content on NH 3 ‐SCR denitration performance was investigated. Additionally, the physicochemical properties of CoCu‐SAPO‐34 zeolite catalysts were studied, and the catalysts were characterized by various technological instruments. The results indicate that CoCu bimetallic catalysts enhanced low‐temperature and high‐temperature activities, along with a wide activity temperature window. The modification of Co does not damage the crystal structure of SAPO‐34 zeolite but increases the content of isolated Cu 2+ species, suppresses CuO aggregation, maintains the number of acid sites, and improves the NH 3 ‐SCR denitration activity.
