A review of research progress and future trends in laser warning systems
In recent years, the widespread adoption of unmanned and intelligent combat platforms, coupled with the continuous advancement of precision strike capabilities, has led to increasingly diverse, high-frequency, and low-observable adversarial threats, including laser ranging, laser guidance, and laser dazzling. To address the challenges posed by complex battlefield environments, laser warning systems must improve detection accuracy, response speed, and anti-jamming capabilities while advancing toward lightweight and intelligent designs. This paper introduces the fundamental principles of laser warning systems, systematically reviews the developmental progress of laser warning technologies both domestically and internationally, and identifies key bottlenecks and challenges in current methodologies. Corresponding solutions are proposed, followed by an exploration of emerging research directions such as intelligent threat recognition, active reconnaissance, and multi-platform cooperative detection. The findings aim to provide valuable references for the independent innovation and practical deployment of next-generation laser warning systems.
