Forward error correction mechanism for distribution automation communication based on polar code
The flexible interaction and intelligent ability of distribution network depends on the reliable transmission of monitoring data and interactive instructions from automatic terminals. The lack of network coverage of operators, channel fluctuations and distribution automation communication devices under wireless communication, problems such as dropped lines and interactive instructions receiving failure occur frequently. The paper studies a forward error correction mechanism to address the packet loss caused by the error code in the channel transmission of distribution automation terminal data. Firstly, the forward error correction coding method is designed based on polar code; Secondly, the serial offset list decoding algorithm assisted by cyclic redundancy check (CRC) is designed, the candidate sequence detected by CRC is utilized as the output sequence of the decoder to improve the error correction ability of the decoding algorithm, and reduce the data packet loss rate. The simulation results indicate that, the proposed forward error correction mechanism demonstrates superior performance across metrics of block error rate, packet loss rate and online rate of distribution automation terminal.
