Research on the precise calculation method of quantitative indicators of fatigue damage of wind turbine main shaft and tower
In the field of wind power generation, the mechanical components of wind turbines are highly flexible, which leads to rapid accumulation of fatigue damage and poses many safety hazards. Precisely quantifying the fatigue damage of key components has become a common and critical challenge in the industry. This paper systematically studies the Rain flow counting method, the Palmgren-Miner linear cumulative damage theory, and the Goodman curve correction theory. By integrating the sliding window technique, the Rain flow counting method is improved and optimized. An innovative calculation method for quantifying the fatigue damage degree is proposed, which can accurately and in real-time calculate the cumulative fatigue damage status of the wind turbine’s main shaft and tower during any time period. Experimental validation verifies that the proposed model can more accurately and intuitively visualize the evolution tendency of cumulative fatigue damage in the main shaft and tower of the wind turbine. Simultaneously, a significant enhancement in computational efficiency has been attained. This helps to reduce the risk of production safety accidents and provides key technical support for the stable and efficient development of the wind power generation industry.
