Le développement durable dans la traduction spécialisée. Quels enjeux?

The field of ecology and sustainable development seems to us to be a field of specialization which raises a big number of issues such as pollution, climate change, environmental disasters, nature protection, and waste management, etc. These issues have become increasingly critical. During our academic work, we noticed that this area of research is not deeply explored, which encouraged us to conduct this analytical study to answer these important questions: “What are the challenges encountered by a specialized translator during their work on texts relating to this environmental field? Why is this exciting field still experiencing a certain shortage of qualified and specialized translators? What skills should a novice translator acquire to be competent in this field? ". In this analytical research, we have tried to present the linguistic and inter-linguistic fields related to this field. First of all, we presented the concept of sustainable development at the global level, then we described the essential theoretical aspects of this specialized language while addressing Andrew Chesterman’s translation theory. In order to achieve our objective, we have created a corpus of terminology related to this field drawn from specialized translation sites, while expressing our thoughts and observations in this regard.
