Synthesis, characterization, Buildup Factors for Multi-Layered Gamma Rays Shielding and antimicrobial behaviors of Ti-MOFs.

This research concentrated on the creation and assessment of the antimicrobial properties of titanium-based metal-organic frameworks (Ti-MOFs), given their wide ranging applications. Ti-MOFs were produced using the precipitation method, with titanium (IV) isopropoxide and 1, 4-benzenedicarboxylic acid, DMF/Methanol mixture (1:1). serving as starting materials. The resulting compounds were analyzed through infrared (IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Their morphology was investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Additionally, the antimicrobial effectiveness was evaluated through the agar diffusion technique. The characterization results showed that the Ti-MOFs were synthesized in a state of weak crystallinity, as indicated by the IR spectrum, which displayed specific bands typical of Ti-MOFs…. SEM and TEM analyses demonstrated that the synthesized Ti-MOFs had an amorphous and nanocrystalline structure. LAC, MAC, HVL, TVL, Zeff, σ-atomic, σ-electron, EBF and EABF and also buildup factors for multilayered (DLEBF and DLEABF) were investigated using Py–MLBUF over the energy ranges from 0.015 to 15.00 MeV. A significant application of Ti-MOFs and their antibacterial activity were studied . The study’s findings revealed that Ti-MOFs were effective against both gram-negative (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis) bacteria. Metal was shown to effectively combat pathogenic bacteria by disrupting bacterial cell membranes, leading to the leakage of cellular contents and eventual cell death. Previous studies have also supported the antimicrobial efficacy against pathogenic bacteria
