Evaluation of Children's Eating Behaviors and its Relation to Dental Caries among Egyptian school aged children: An observational cross-sectional study
Objective: The purpose of the current study is to evaluate children's eating behavior and its relation to dental caries among Egyptian school-aged children. subjects and methods: 200 students were included in this study from age (6-8) years old. The child eating behavior questionnaire (CEBQ) was used to evaluate the child's eating behavior, and each child was diagnosed in the school. Any Decayed, Missed, or Filled tooth was recorded using DMF index for permanent teeth, and dmf index was used for primary teeth, and then parents answered the questionnaire. Results: The correlation coefficients for all the eating behavior scores (food fussiness, enjoyment of food, emotional overeating, food responsiveness, satiety responsiveness, emotional undereating, desire to drink, and slowness in eating) are close to zero. This suggests that there is no significant correlation between these eating behaviors and dental caries experience. Conclusion: There is no relation in our study age group between eating behavior and dental caries.
