Effect Of Foliar Nutrition On Productivity Of Some Wheat Varieties In Desert Areas
Experimental field trials were carried out at the Agricultural Experiment Station, which is affiliated with the Desert Research Center (D.R.C.), located in EL-Kharga Oasis, New Valley Governorate. These tests took place throughout the winter growing seasons of 2020/ 2021 and 2021/ 2022. The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of foliar nutrition on the productivity of many wheat cultivars in desert regions. The grain production shown a strong and statistically significant correlation with water usage efficiency and most of the characteristics examined in both seasons. The findings of our study's Principal Component Analysis (PCA) can be valuable and employed as an appropriate approach for identifying the optimal cultivars and spraying regimes for foliar nutrition mixtures. The research suggests that in desert regions, it is advisable to cultivate the wheat variety Gemmeiza 11 and apply a foliar nutrition mixture including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, fulvic acid, zinc, manganese, silicate, gibberellic acid, ascorbic acid, and seaweed extract four times to the wheat plants. This approach aims to achieve the maximum wheat productivity in desert conditions, resulting in 2515 and 2480 kg grains per f season, respectively.
