Reviving Architectural Identity through Sustainable Practices in the Arab World
This research explores the vital connection between architectural identity and sustainable urban development, focusing on the urgent need to preserve cultural authenticity in urban communities. Many urban areas are experiencing a decline in architectural identity, which poses challenges to achieving sustainability. This study argues that sustainable urban practices must be rooted in Arab cultural identity, fostering a synergy between identity and sustainability. The primary objective of this research is to identify how architectural identity can support sustainable construction through community engagement and aesthetic considerations in urban planning. Despite increasing interest in these themes, there is a notable gap in understanding the relationship between identity and urban sustainability, which this study aims to address.By highlighting the positive impact of reinforcing architectural identity on urban sustainability, the research emphasizes the importance of community collaboration. It examines the interplay between social dynamics and the physical representation of identity in urban settings, seeking to uncover beneficial interactions that promote sustainable development.
