Unilateral hearing loss (UHL), hearing loss in one ear only, has continued to gain interest in recent years as evidence accumulates pointing to the potential negative effects that this type of hearing loss may have on a person’s daily life. The debate over appropriate diagnosis, treatment and interventions for UHL continues. A review of current literature of the implications and treatment for UHL is provided and management across the lifespan is discussed.
