PLANNING POLICY AND FUNCTIONAL COMPOSITION IN JAPANESE AQUARIUMS
The aim of this study is to clarify aspects of architectural design methodology in Japanese aquariums by examining the relationship between planning policy and functional composition. First, planning policies were analyzed based on given conditions and physical settings. Next, the area allocation of departments and their arrangements of circulation patterns in both public and non-public areas were examined. Finally, the correlation between planning policies and functional composition was examined by creating functional composition models.
